Visiting legislators at the State Capitol to address harmful cuts made in the federal budget

On May 13th, we had the privilege of meeting with legislators or their representatives from the offices of Assembly members Nguyen and Hoover and Senators Niello and Ashby during NCJW California’s Lobby Day 2026! Our Section advocates were all prepared and persuasive and the entire effort was well organized thanks to our Section members! The Sacramento Section advocates were joined by NCJW sisters from Long Beach and Orange counties who lobbied their legislators on the priority legislation. It was great to swap stories and strategy.

This year the bills and budget items address the challenges of child care reform and fair pay for child care providers, safe access to abortions, restoration of Medi-Cal for undocumented persons, reduction of hunger and lifting children out of poverty. This is an important time both for California and the nation, and therefore an especially important time to make our voices heard during our legislative visits.
