Opening Meeting: “A Firsthand Report from our Southern Border”

3:00 pm — 5:00 pm

Congregation B’nai Israel
Social Hall
3600 Riverside Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95818

All Are Invited to NCJW Sacramento’s Opening Meeting:
“A Firsthand Report from Our Southern Border”

During this time of controversy and chaos at our border with Mexico, we are reminded of a quote from Leviticus 24:22 – “You shall have one standard for stranger and citizen alike…”.

We are fortunate to have Dale Stark, M.D., a local pediatrician who worked for Sutter Medical Foundation for 27 years, as our Opening Meeting keynote speaker. She recently returned from our southern border, where she served immigrant families caught in the maelstrom of the detention centers and surrounding area. Prior to her work in Sacramento, Dr. Stark was a clinical professor at San Francisco General Hospital and a physician at La Clinica De La Raza Oakland. She has been involved in the fight for human rights since the 1970s.

We’ll be discussing actions we can take now to improve the lives of children and families who are wandering strangers in our midst. All are encouraged to attend.
